Our Story

BrandVerge founders, Lynn and Mollie, met on the first day of college and ended up working on opposite sides of the media industry after graduation. Lynn handled media planning and buying at an NYC-based agency, while Mollie worked in advertising sales at prominent NYC-based publishers. Their friendship progressed alongside their professional development and they found themselves brainstorming ways in which they could simplify their jobs - and make an impact on the larger advertising industry.

They finally had an ah-ha moment over brunch, while complaining about the RFP process. Lynn was sick of wading through mountains of materials that lead to hours of back-and-forth negotiation with publishers. Mollie was sick of guessing what buyers wanted and scrambling to send thoughtful proposals within the 48-hour timeframe allotted. This is how BrandVerge was founded.

Schiller is Global Chief Commercial Officer at Engine Group, charged with driving worldwide revenue growth for ENGINE, a creative and media-marketing services company.
At NBCUniversal, he built and led a $500 million internet media advertising business that resulted from refining 16 separate sales/marketing organizations brought together with the acquisition of NBCUniversal by Comcast eight years ago.
Prior, Schiller spent the majority of his career in marketing, sales management, and media roles with increasing responsibility at a wide variety of entrepreneurial and Fortune 50 companies.
Schiller was a co-founder and long-time board member and former chairman of The Interactive Advertising Bureau (www.IAB.com) as part of a small group of industry leaders who imagined the future business opportunity for digital media. He created the Digital Media Sales Certification program with over 15,000 participants to-date.
Schiller is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU's Stern School of Business, an advisor to Cornell’s Department of Communication, and serves on the Board of Directors/chair of the Governance Committee of Make-A-Wish/Metro New York. He earned a BA in Economics from Cornell University and has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management, at Northwestern University.

SUZIE COHEN

Suzie graduated from UPenn in 2004 and began her career at Goldman Sachs & Co. After four years on Wall Street, she transitioned into media sales at a handful of start ups before joining BuzzFeed in 2015.

Scott Kurnit founded and served as chairman and CEO of About, Inc. as it grew to a public market value of $1.7 billion and was the fifth largest of all Web properties. About invented or popularized important Internet staples such as blogging, content SEO and contextual pay-per-click advertising. He sold About US to Primedia for $724 million. About was then owned by the New York Times Company and IAC.

CARL FREMONT

With over 38 years in Marketing, Carl is a passionate leader and visionary in the industry, as well as a frequent speaker and consultant on the transformations occurring in digital and technology. He was responsible for the creation of a business alliance between two WPP powerhouses, Wavemaker (Media) and Wunderman (Digital, Data, CRM). The Alliance was developed for brands to achieve an orchestrated and integrated consumer-centric approach to communications, centered around the consumer journey, from creating brand desire and demand to long-term profitable consumer relationships. As Global Chief Digital Officer – MEC, he collaborated with clients on the transformation to more digitally-centric marketing strategies that accelerated the expansion to a more dynamic and responsive brand-consumer relationship for Marriott, Chevron, Campbells, AT&T and Vodaphone. Carl has extensive marketing and media experience in a multitude of brand categories in leadership roles at WPP and Digitas/Publicis including automotive, car rental, financial services, consumer package goods, retail, technology, eCommerce, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and travel. Carl has extended his leadership to help non-profit and early stage companies accelerate their digital practices through Advisory Board roles; notably breastcancer.org, KERV, Bionic and BrandVerge. Carl has been awarded lifetime member status of She Runs It (formerly Advertising Women of New York) a marketing industry association, for his mentorship and advocacy for the development and advancement of women in marketing. Carl also is the Chairperson Emeritus of the Ad Club of New York where under Carl’s leadership, Club launched its Women’s Fellowship program and diversity initiatives.

CAITLIN ENGLER

Caitlin leads North America Client Partnerships at Vice Media Group. She’s been a foundational part of building Refinery29’s client relationships and commercial growth for the past 7 years. Her expertise is focused largely on retail, fashion, beauty, finance and auto. Caitlin was also the lead behind Refinery29’s award winning initiative, The 67% Project, which is an on-going cross-platform initiative created to confront the reality that plus size women in America are consistently underrepresented in media and retail.

ANTHONY IACOVONE

CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR AT BIOSYMETRICS INC

Anthony Iacovone has long been a leading visionary in the area of mobile marketing and advertising technology. He conceptualized the Augme Mobile strategy in the early days pre-smart phones, and later became co-founder and CEO of AdTheorent Inc. More recently, Anthony spun off Barometric, an advertising identity graph and audience insights company, recently acquired by the Claritas Corporation.

Michael Provenzano is the CEO & Co-Founder of Vistar Media, the world’s leading end-to-end programmatic ecosystem for digital out-of-home. Prior to Vistar, Michael was a co-founder of Invite Media, the first universal demand side platform for online display advertising, which was purchased by Google in 2010. Michael holds a BSE in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
